Difference Maker

I am a difference maker.

I am a servant, an ambassador, a son and heir to the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a man who carries himself and lives with the authority God has given to me. I am all in. I am a Son of Thunder, a force to contend with, a powerful and authoritative being. I am a man who has the will of God in his sights and strives to manifest it in every way possible.

I am a loving man. I’m a man who has a heart for the person to whom no one else gives the time of day. I am a man who has experienced constant love from my family, friends, and most of all Jesus, and do what I can so others can feel that love as well.

I am a man who has been fine-tuned by my experiences. I am a man who has seen close friends and family go through difficult times, therefore producing a longing in my heart to help those who need help. I’m a man who has seen my friends leave me for ungodly things. I'm a man who has experienced the deepest form of loneliness. I’m a man who refused to let the sadness win. I’m a man who can empathize as well as sympathize because of it.

I'm a man who knows faith without works is dead. I believe followers of Christ are called to be set apart from the world, and that the separation should be distinct and obvious. I'm a man who strives to break from the passive mold that is encompassing so many Christians today. I will not conform to the ways of this world. I'm a man who isn’t just not afraid to speak up, but looks for the opportunity to. I am confident in my faith.

I am a son to Lynne and Ken, a brother to many, a boyfriend to Savannah Vessell. I'm a man driven by relationships, believing them to be the most important thing of this Earth. I'm blessed by God to be able to connect with people easily, and I strive to suck all the marrow out of that gift for His glory and His glory alone. I'm a man who is a part of the true definition of a church through BBC, FCA, and SOT. That being said, I have experienced relationships go by the wayside. I'm a man who understands human love is conditional, and Christ’s love is eternal.

I am wonderfully and fearfully made. I am a light; I shine like a star in the sky. I am made to preach the gospel, and I am of the chosen. I am a leader. I lead by example to the best of my ability. I am unsatisfied when I see change is needed and nothing gets done. I know who I am. I am the influence, not the influenced.

I am a man who has faith in the Trinity, Jesus’ crucifixion then resurrection, salvation, and the power of prayer. I'm a man who gains confidence and assurance because of it.

I am a student. I seek to learn from not only my own experiences, but from others’ as well. I seek the Truth. What I know to be Truth can never be compromised. I strive to understand the world, the intricacies of the phenomenon that is the gospel.

I am an athlete. I love sports. I love music, and I love to read. I squint when I smile. I have small ears. I like to cut loose; I'm a little too immature at times. I love my friends. I am social, yet content by myself. I love adventure, I love to explore and discover God’s creation.

I am a man who understands eternity is on the line at every second. Every second counts.

I have faith in the Bible- every word. I have faith in the Six Day Creation. I am constantly in awe at nature and God’s craftsmanship: sunrises, sunsets, mountains, waterfalls, oceans, hills, reefs, deserts, canyons, and forests- God’s creation.

I am a future husband. I strive to treat my future wife as well as I can. I strive to live for her now, and when the day comes, she will be the #1 person in my life. I am a man who has seen my parents’ unconditional love for each other, and will one day continue and add to that love with my future wife.

I am a man who rejoices in trials. I am an optimist. I see the best in people, and put my trust in that, sometimes to the point where I get hurt. I'm a man who has experienced joy in its purest form. Therefore, I am joyful. Nothing on this Earth can ever take away my joy.

I am a man who has experienced many failures, and use it as a reminder that only God is eternal. I'm a man who has experienced crazy stress from an abundance of expectations and obligations, and use it as a reminder to set my sights upon serving God and God alone.

I am a sinner. I fail daily, and I sin daily. I am human.

I am forgiven. I am alive and free, given grace for all my humanistic attributes and shortcomings. I am free from any condemnation. I once was blind, but now I see. I am washed by the water of salvation. I am part of the family of God, the body of Christ. I have laid my life down before God- my failures, my successes, my essence. I have surrendered to His design. I am His and He is mine.

I am a warrior. I refuse to walk in sin, every day is a battle. Daily, I take up my belt of Truth, my breastplate of righteousness, my sandals of readiness, my shield of faith, my helmet of salvation, and my sword of the Spirit, and I go to war. I have been given power and authority from the Creator of the universe, and I live like it. I have cast out demons, healed, changed lives, saved lives, and have called forth the supernatural. I rebuke. I love. I counsel. I do all of this in His name and for the furthering of His Kingdom.

I am empowered and enabled by the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I live by Him, through Him, and for Him.

I am a difference maker.
