Different

Because poetry is a form of expression let me express myself. The word Different means standing out, showing out, and being indifferent to what others think of you. But so many are concerned about what others think of them. "If I wear this will I be accepted?" or "Will acting this way give me more attention?" I'm tired of it. Being just like everyone else is like wearing a white t-shirt in a crowd full of white t-shirts. Its bland, the same, and expressionless. Where are the people who are willing to stand out? Those who don't care if you are talked about, criticized, or ostracized. The unashamed. The bold. The difference makers. These are the world changers. These are the history makers. Being expressive doesn't mean being obnoxious. It also doesn't mean being foolish. But it does mean that you will take a stand against evil even when others are choosing it. Its about standing up for those who can't. Its about saying, "no" to the norm and saying, "yes" to the extraordinary. As an ending, as a conclusion, I must restate the premise: choosing to be Different is not easy, its hard. But the hardest things are always worth it. Its time to take a stand.
