The Different

The people speak The people shun The different are hated The different cannot run The world is ignorant Evolving perhaps too slowly In their eyes, He is not a person, but a monster, only. They know what he is They try to avoid his presence They are the rulers And he is their peasant Their painful words stab his heart Names he have been called are cuts that will never heal Parents tell their children not to talk to him Everyone will pass by, pretending he's not real They all have the same eyes The "we don't want you here" stare He felt alone and lost, like an outsider Then someone gave him a different glare The man held his hand out to help him up From the depths of hell, the man stopped those tears His eyes were accepting, nice and genuine The man's words gave hope, destroying the boy's fears This ignorant world has yet to see Homosexual love is a right and has no wrong Now they are no longer alone They are different and we stand a hundred thousand strong
