Different

I am from the palm trees and hot white sand

From the refried beans, burritos and the techal language

Origins of the African slave freed in the Carribeans

And the great great granddaughter of Master Thomas' " belly warmer"

I am a proud Honduran native.

Born of the ocean and raised by the whip of a tree

My culture buried and grown inside me.

I am from the late night carnivals and wide

multicolored skirts, which never touch the ground

I am from the " Hola como estas ? " to the " Adios te veo manana"

Born into the Hall's and the Webster's

I am uniquely my own in everyway

Though I will never forget where I came from

I am ME.
