Different

I want my life to make a difference.

Who cares about acceptance,

When you can show persistence

And change the course of another human’s life.

I’ve tried to be selfish;

To make it all about me

But it’s just not fulfilling.

Go ahead, try;

You’ll see.

Now, I want to make a change.

I don’t have to do it from a stage;

But just give me a platform

And I will fill it with rage.

At the despicable things done to mankind;

And all the while we’ve tried not to mind.

There’s a problem,

Something’s screwed up.

A wire not quite connected

In the minds of people not quite rejected;

By society.

Because we’re too tolerant and too understanding

To say

Sit Down!

You’re wrong.

Something needs to change.

Something needs to mend,

The broken hearts that can only fend

Off their problems for so long.

I, want to make a difference.
