A Different Kind of Hero

Alone in the darkness without a friend comes one who will help until the end. To guide you on the path that never fades past endless mountains and everglades. To the seas beyond and onward till the storms are calm and waters still. And sailing further into the light of day where darkness ceases to be in the way, comes in glorious light the home you left behind to venture into worlds unknown and unkind. Now you’re back, back to where you belong and yet somehow knew all along. You tried to get back alone but failed every time. You needed someone else to get you back in time.

This poem was inspired by the fact that sometimes in life we can travel so far from where we need to be. We all need someone to get us back on the right path. For me that person was Jesus Christ. He is my different kind of hero.
