A Different Kind of Shield
Because of you
I stopped hiding.
I let you read the words that I wrote for no one but myself.
You were allowed to reach into the depths of my brain, soul, and heart.
I whispered thoughts into your ears that I was afraid to even speak alone.
I let every shield I have fall.
Every cold weapon hit the ground with a sharp bang.
Every layer slowly removed.
Because I want you to see everything.
I want you to know everything I hate and everything I love.
I stand before you naked in every sense.
And I am not scared.
That’s truly something, isn’t it?
This trust.
Please don't break it.
Because your love has made me stronger than any weapon ever has.
