Different Worlds

He will see her engulfed by the ocean

She will see him swallowed by the flame

Exactly where they shouldn’t be

Yet fitting perfectly

The tree of life took special interest

In these two confounding misfits

The roots grew round them tight

Until one fateful night

When finally they meet

Him in blue, she in pink

The sky a mess of purple ink

For when they touched then they knew

Even though taboo

Fire’s love will never sink

And water’s love will burn forever

They will always be together

Until the day they die

Then together their steam will rise

Into the heavens and above

They will still be in love
