Differentiating Perspectives

It isn't an open road. This road is narrow, rough. This road is desolate, glum. This road is lamentable, regrettable. Yet many people travel it and never turn back. This road is taken by those who don't dare to live - the humans who aren't brave. The humans who are fearful of too many things. They carry these fears along to each and every one of their destinations, and acquire more along the way. How is one living if they're constantly adopting more fears? How is one to enjoy the simplistic, yet hidden beauty of life? You fear being pricked by a thorn on a roses' stem- so you admire from a distance. The undesirable thorns will remain a sensation unknown to your fingers- but so will the scarlet, soft, spiral of satiny petals. Everyone wants to be at the top metaphorically- why not literally? Why are substantial heights? One can only see so much from the ground- where all five senses are manipulated and limited. For one to be situated at the top of a mountain, looking down, all that's seen is the great distance between one's self and the ruddy earth. But what if you look in all the other directions? All around will be beautiful, breath-taking scenery- as far as the naked eye can see. Everyone has an acquired fear of some sort- to be completely fearless is not human. There are many unavoidable, fearful paths that cross into one's path of life. The difference is the way you approach it. To learn to get rid of your fears is a skill that's just as valuable as walking... Therefore, you need not fear. Therefore, you need not fret. Therefore, you need not worry. Face every fear with confidence and vigor- it IS possible. A wise man once said, "To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom." So, Turn that dismal road to an exultant one... Carpe diem.
