Difficult

When fear straps your tear

breaking you with all you hold dear

Love becomes a coal

burning your soul

Holding a gun they hand you a pen

have you sign your heart away

as your children watch and scream

in teary eyes mama don’t go

You hang your heart on a spear

watch their eyes sear in tears

Turn your back, face the police

for things you never did.

While waiting for things to clear

you lose the only person you held dear

your father, miss his funeral, like a queer.

Before you know it, you lose a year.

Fast forward three years

Your name is cleared

but you lost your kids

to police who never helped.

Rulings are ink on paper that hurt

more than loss when the system betrays

leaving you with a written victory

you can dunk in a cup like a cookie.

Justice in this world is a coal

designed to fail a good soul.

Love is a sword that cuts

deeper than flesh

and kills more than once.

Difficult is a lifetime

never a moment for a mom

Difficult is a daily struggle

for a child missing its parent

for a mom looking for closure.

Author's Notes:

You can not come up with difficult for difficult comes up to you and takes over your life , changing or burning it.

CNQT

Poetry is a form of passionate expression kindled by an impression unbound by public conviction. I write mainly from two genres : impressionism and symbolism. Choose me or leave me, I'm not a backup plan and definitely not a second choice! Not everyone likes me but then again not everyone matters. What matters is peace and the feeling of being content. Every person is a book, this is just the place to share some pages from my book. Peace!
