Digging Holes
I spent my whole life digging this hole
I’m constantly told go as far as I can go
And you know, the first few times I think I believed it
I was gonna do great things but now I can see that
I’ve been in this self made pit for too long of my life
Gonna need some help out if I’m gonna survive
I’ve gone so deep I can’t even feel the sun shine
Selling lies so cheap, telling everyone that I’m fine
Because I know deep down they don’t want the truth
“Couldn’t do it ourselves. Now the pressure’s on you”
The irony is I truly wanted to be the best
But now I’ve realized it’s lonely; trying to separate from the rest
I can’t turn back, no not now
I can’t imagine letting them all down
Cause my life is my cross and I’m gonna bear it
I made my own orange jumpsuit, now I’ve got to wear it
And I know they’re gonna hate how it all comes to an end
But at least I can say that I did it for them
This hole I’ve dug has about reached it’s time
So bury me here. I promise, I’ll be fine.
