Dinner with the Bears

Where could she have gone?

There is no place to go

The empty streets

The big, wide woods

No place to go for tasty treats

No warmth to seek within the trees

Alone we sit, our family eats,

With golden locks atop our heads.

“Robert where has your sister gone?”

“She said to play with bears”

“Preposterous!” the mother squealed

“There are no bears out here!”

“She heard they have a house down there,

Around the shady cove,

Its big and white

With lots of fright

And I told her not to go!”

“We live in the middle of nowhere,

There are no houses near!

Why would she even want to go

To talk with a bunch of bears?

They’re animals for God’s sake, they’re crazy and they’re mean!”

“Does she think they sit at tables?

Completing simple tasks?

Don’t tell me she thinks those jaws they wear are silly little masks!”

*Knock Knock*

“Finally!

I knew she’d come!

She really gave me the scares.”

“Goldilocks where have you been?”

“Eating porridge with the bears”
