All around me are familiar faces, people I’ve always seen.

All around me are worn down places, locations I’ve already been.

All around me are echoing voices,

All around me are ever-changing noises.

Underneath me is the Earth, warm and dry,

Up above me are the birds, soaring through the sky.

Up above me are the stars, burning bright

Underneath me are the masses, soundly sleeping tonight.

Over on my left, children laugh and play

Over on my right, they spend another day.

Over on my left, cars come rushing by

Over on my right, the years seem to fly.

Right in front of me, are the opportunities I’ve missed

Just behind me, are all the friends I’ve dissed.

Right in front of me, are all the places I’ll go

Just behind me, is all I’ve ever known.

Over there, are all the people I’ve let slip away

Over here, are all the people that have decided to stay

Over there, all they do is scream

Over here, all I do is dream
