Dirge For The Fallen

Mom I'm a creature now

I kush all day everyday

Liquor has offered me succor

In the midst of my stormy sorrow

I'm not afraid of facing tomorrow

But I'm afraid if the life um living

Only left with me to believe in

Smile because um still Believing

I want to quit

Be the son you want

But I can't

Cause I always want

I'm kissing my youth goodbye

Ever optimistic like the tidal waves

God left me long ago

If you turn back on me i understand

I'm writing this tears filling my eyes

I can't help it cry cause all I ever wanted was to reach for the skies

Only man made out of dust

Beaten down no longer robust

I fell off don't be disappointed

For I am already disappointed

In my self and everything

You will never see the world through my eyes

I have become a wild flower with thorns

Not by choice but by time and chance

If I keep on failing I will sell my soul for the highest bid

I will roam soulless but immortal

I love you mom but I can't stop

Elfuric

Ever since I learnt how to write I never stopped writing short stories, poems and ideas. I am from Africa living in South Africa, Joburg. I am a business man with a love for music and writing. Its lovely how a poem can be turned into a song. Rhythm and Words are my closest friends. I respect The Sound of Life and the power in following your Heart which makes Music till the day you die.
