Dirty-ella

Birds are screaming,

Mice are running

But who will make it stop?

Once Upon A Time...

three words quoted so dearly

that they nearly lost all sense

a broken telephone

she wasn’t actually alone

A fireplace girl with skin like pearls

all covered in dust and grime

but she loved the dirt

contrary

the mud is a bath

and her hair isn’t naturally brown

No

A stepmother who can’t stand the smell

and sisters who can’t stand a mess

so she’s off on her own

which, sad to say,

is with the piggies

She would sing her songs all day long

A Cinderella choir for one

a painful concert for all

Until all of a sudden a chance came along

so the mice sat and they plotted

the cats removed what rotted

the horses scrubbed what had spotted

and the cows didn’t do anything at all

thanks cows

But a dance had arrived

the animals were smart

and concocted their plan

Scrub, a dub

remove ashes and Cinders from the tub

no one needs a dirty princess

but a dirty prince

They say pigstys are a disaster

but have you seen

a royal suite

Cinderella, my friends, was quite

complete.
