The Disappearance
It was a stormy night,
Without a sign of light,
A family of three missing,
All that was heard was the television screen hissing,
A sixteen-year-old girl name Lane,
She is the only one who can find them, but she is insane,
She has only ten days,
It was mid-august,
Many people afraid of what happened, they walked with caution,
Lane investigated, was stunned to what caught her eye,
A young maiden’s doll, but drenched in blood, why?
The doll puzzled Lane insane,
For that she was admitted to a doctor, to monitor her brain,
Every night Lane heard noises talking to her,
She thought it was the family trying to contact her,
Every night she tried to tape the voices,
All that she heard was her mumbling her choices,
The voices gave her a decision,
That night Lane had a vision,
Her vision gave her a location of the missing,
The location would stop the earth from spinning,
A location no man could reach,
Lane’s skin color looked like it was bleached,
With the location at hand,
She began searching for such land,
With only two days left, not even possible,
It was mission impossible,
When Lane finally discovered the kidnapped sight,
She begins her search, while time fights,
When she came near a tree, a noise shook the earth,
A shattered picture frame of the family,
Lane starred hard at the picture,
How beautiful the married couple and maiden looked,
How anger, frustrated, and gilt ran over her,
With exhaustion, her eyes began to blur,
Tears ran down her eyes,
Lane tried to hold it in, for she was about to cry,
Tears hit the floor, making it sound like rain,
Voices from now were said “pull it together Lane!”
When the words hit Lane’s ear, she nearly screamed,
She keep telling herself, “It’s just a dream, it’s a dream,”
When she calmed down, she was amazed to what she saw,
The mother and father talking, but she only heard the word “claw,”
Claw, what does that mean?
The mother said, “Bean”,
I do not understand, “help me, help!”
No answer, Why! Lane yelped,
Lane barking out Why, Why!
But the family only sang—bye,
No! Please I need more please,
She picked up the picture and squeezed,
Lane throws the picture across the room, shattering the glass,
Steaming with anger, running out of gas,
Rocking back and forth, back and forth in her chamber,
She kept repeating; danger, danger, DANGER!
Lane carving the word in her walls and floorboards,
Danger, danger,
Lane looked at herself, shattered the mirror and scold,
All of a sudden, the chamber got quiet and cold,
It was a stormy night,
Without a sight of light,
A family of three missing,
All that was heard was the television screen hissing.
