Disappointment

Some days I’m sick

Some days I feel like crying

I always listened, I behaved

I never questioned

But I asked questions

I guess

that’s how I learned

When I smile

They don’t understand

My beauty

Nobody knows underneath this mask

Of anger

Lies patience and humor

And energy

Lies a young woman

Mature

For my age

And my behavior spoke for itself

You are a smart young lady

And so

Beautiful

You look just like

Your mother

So lost in this strange world

It seems nobody has time for me

I’m not simple

I’m not

Not me

Danger calls to me

Every silent moment of my thought

I don’t answer

Yet a smirk crawls across my face

When that butterfly feeling reappears

I am in love

I don’t really understand why or how

Some days I’m sick

            Dying

I always listened, I behaved

I always questioned

But I never asked questions

I guess

             I learned

When I smile

They don’t understand

My beauty

            Mask

Of seduction

Lies patience and humor

And energy

Lies a little girl

I was very mature

For my age

And my behavior spoke for itself

You’ll do well here

Not

Beautiful

I wish I had

            a mother

So lost in this busy world

It seems nobody has time for me

I’m quite simple

I am

Oh don’t fool yourself, who are you kidding

Danger finds me

Every silent moment of my career

I don’t answer

I am in love

Again
