Disaster

We run and we run, For we must leave this place. Going as fast as we can, As they continue the chase. We didn't mean to do it. It wasn't intended. But we said some things, And they were offended. It was first loud words, Then became a brawl. It all ended suddenly, As they started to fall. Watched them die, Grabbed the gun, Ran for our lives, Even when the end has begun. It was all a mistake. Our former friends now dead. But not before the bounty, Was set on my head. I can run no more, Thinking of the dreadful sight. I tell you to run, That this isn't your fight. Your refusal of my reasons, I can only explain as love. Saying we will be together forever, On a cloud high above. I try to persuade you, To live your life as your best. That only after you have finished, Will I accept your request. You just shake your head, And do an about face, Toward where we had fled, And looked up at space. I grab your hand, Before you could dash away. I don't want a fighting death There was a better way. I pull out the gun, And look in your eyes. We have one last kiss, Before our demise. You hold me close, Because you want to go first. And with tears on my face, I achieve the worst. As I look at your peaceful face, Which I can only describe as angelic. I say I’ll see you in heaven, And end myself quick.
