Disastrous Desire

He tells her to no longer breathe

Any response induces him to seethe

Contradicting actions place a rope in her hand yet,

yanks her from the ledge she stands

He knows she’d follow him anyway

Denying all words to this day

Convinces her his feelings are true

Her own heart can only rue

“Going to burn it” escapes his lips

Words lash harsher than whips

Its all I know is the one protest

As long as he’s present, she never rests

Torture in the form of affection

Cant get a phrase out without his correction

Hands that clasp around her throat

In a whispering voice he begins to gloat

Never complains, won’t regret the pain

His attention is what keeps her sane

He rips her very soul apart
She expected it all from the start
