Disciple
I try to lead without speaking,
or listening,
or thinking.
My heart echoes off the walls
of these hallowed places.
I am empty yet silent,
awake yet gone.
I forever wander
wanting,
always wanting,
uttering wishes
not meant to see
the light of the dawn.
Death avoids me but
the flame remains still.
Days numbered,
worlds divided.
