To the disciple who says he loves her:

You have only ever watched her

Watched as her fire lights the corridor

You ignore the burning buildings behind you

Shake off the ash

As she beckons you to run with her

You never touch her

And I respect your respectability

But somewhere I think you know;

You are kindling next to her flame

Your morals will burn and crumble the closer you get

It is boiling down to two things:

Your head or your heart.

Your faith or your feelings.

You talk about her fire as if it is the only source of light

Her water as if it is wine

Trying to squeeze her between your seven virtues

It’s not hard to see that something is cracking

And at the end of the day, I don’t think you’ll feel

Whole.
