Discovering Me
Because I love you,
There is a reason to go to my locker after each class
I love the unfamiliar smell of fresh cut grass
Exploration of the unknown is not as scary
Being with you is so necessary
Finally someone is there to listen to me
But then we begin to disagree
Blinded by my yearning for you I say I’m sorry
I cry each night it’s starry
Everything I am revolves around you
But all you ever do is tell me I fell through
When it ends it feels as if my lungs have collapsed
And all I want is to relapse
I couldn’t change for how you wanted me to be
And now I’m here crying on my knees
I lost myself for you
And now I have to start new
I am beautiful
And I am not useable
Because I loved you,
I love myself
There is a reason to go to my locker after each class
I love the unfamiliar smell of fresh cut grass
Exploration of the unknown is not as scary
Being with you is so necessary
Finally someone is there to listen to me
But then we begin to disagree
Blinded by my yearning for you I say I’m sorry
I cry each night it’s starry
Everything I am revolves around you
But all you ever do is tell me I fell through
When it ends it feels as if my lungs have collapsed
And all I want is to relapse
I couldn’t change for how you wanted me to be
And now I’m here crying on my knees
I lost myself for you
And now I have to start new
I am beautiful
And I am not useable
Because I loved you,
I love myself
