Ever wonder what it's like to feel totally out of control?
One minute happy, the next depressed, who knows where you end up next?
Maybe in the ER and even admitted inpatient too
Why do we see this happen all to often to me and you?
Medications and therapy too, slowly become routine
We find a new normal and get on with our lives
But things will NEVER be the same
If it wasn't for my writing, I couldn't keep on fighting
This disease is cruel and senseless
Blind to age,creed,and color
It affects us all and leaves us clinging to each other
We must join together and make our voices heard
From city to city, across every nation
That research must be done, and a cure must be found
So that someday all of us can say
We USED to have a MENTAL ILLNESS!
