Disease

You know the thing that gets me?

I'm sick, but no body sees.

I'm sick of this world because I don't want to be

put on the very top of the totem pole by my family,

or talked about jokingly because I'm skinny.

No body sees the battle I have inside my head,

the one I consider losing but that means I'll end up dead.

But, still I find myself lying in bed

thinking about the next day I know I'll dread.

Not a single soul finds my hidden shame,

my starvation, because I can't shake this family fame.

I don't care if you think it's lame.

I do it because no one can hear my cry.

Not a one person would care if I keel over and die.

You know the one thing that really gets me,

I'm sick and absolutely no body sees.
