The Disease that Kills

Alzheimer's is the disease that erases memory.

It slowly destroys the human brain.

Forget everything known about chemistry;

There is no gain, it just causes pain.  

Memories are destroyed for good.

No one knows where they go for sure,

No memories of a childhood.

Never knowing what the future holds; always unsure.

Family once loved so dearly

Disappears slowly in the mind.

Judgement is impacted severely,

How can God can be so unkind?

Praying to keep sane

With this disease with no cure.

No capacity in the brain to complain,

No longer feeling secure

Gradually fading away,

Taking the last breath in fear.

Life betrays,

Death is near.
