Disguise

It’s always hard

To hide behind your lies

To try and put on a disguise

Always hiding the truth

Losing sight of reality

Not knowing what is true versus what is fake

It only gets harder

You’ll forget how to laugh

Your smile will fade

And soon enough be totally gone

Your eyes tell the story

The story that’s within

It”ll always be hard

As we hide behind our lies

And as we try to hide behind our disguise

Your heart will go cold

You’ll feel constantly numb

You’ll see your body shake

But no longer feel it ache

Your throat will start to close

And your legs will feel weak

You try to hide your gasps for air

But nothing seems to help

You still try to lie to others

And hide behind them all

You put on the same disguise

But is it really your disguise anymore?
