Disguise

I, detached from my own body

My soul uncapable to control

Heart beats louder than anyone but never heard

He saw me and I craved for love

Something so overbearing yet not at all

Deprived from the one solution I glorified

I sought him out, oh how juvenile

His love turned to loss

Loss of myself I hadn't known

That to love a man of such stature

Would demean my chatter

To whispers and soft spoken safety

Hoping one day someone will save me

From the way I shrunk deeper than ever

Only now I knew myself better

Better enough to know right from wrong

Better enough to leave a monster

So untangible his face was just as mine

Detached from his body

But I knew better

To save a man who never knew better.

I love him
