Disguised
I do not weep for you
no tears to wipe away here
I cannot say a lie
I do not weep for you
do you not weep for me?
no tears where there should be
but I live many lies
you do not see my disguise
it is the smile I wear
the indifferent “hello”
I’m lonely, but content
to remain that way for now
I do not weep for you
no; I simply do not weep
my smiles I give freely
but my feelings safe I keep
