Disrespect

People often wonder; what is this generation coming to? It’s a common question, I know I do They think; why is the music industry this way? With its catchy beats, yes But that's all the least Some songs degrade woman to the last lusty detail Flooding them with negative messages on a massive scale They think; why do people use the N-word so freely? With its many pronunciations that people like to alter Becoming more of a problem, being heard by your young son and daughter Who basically have no knowledge of what it means It’s always been an insult from what I've heard and seen They think; why do young people act this way? When they curse out their teachers Commit criminal acts Fight until the last drip of blood drops And have no idea how to use the mop, but can make a mess like a pro So I'll let you marinate on that for a second Time’s up It’s because of disrespect Is that the answer you'd expect? Do you think I'm incorrect? You see, some music has no respect for women You see; their objects, just sexy props in the performance, to them To me, their the gender that had to work for their rights the hardest Their my mother, grandmothers, teachers, and friends And I’ll love them until the very end Disrespect The N-word is so common now But if whips and chains made a comeback it would change the crowd Your ancestors may not be with you But think about what they went through And if your ancestors were not the ones that were subjugated Think about others who are related Disrespect You got the good kids and then you got the flat out nasty group that will bring us down Acting like clowns They disgust me I’m not one of them they'll say And claim they don't need help, for them I’ll pray And it seems like every day Parents just give up on their kids I believe that's one of the ultimate sins And when it's their fault the kids can never blame themselves Well To that I say Disrespect, disrespect, disrespect But, it's nothing new I mean, what can you do? What can you do? No not you, it’s not about you, it’s we What can we do? We can all just have, in Jesus name And you can't be mad, it's a shame, that We all just need, for everyone, don’t forget Respect
