Dissatisfaction guaranteed

Proverbs 3:5   New English Translation

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not rely on your own understanding.          

Dissatisfaction guaranteed

When the flesh serves God, the power of sin is strengthened

Here and then, but every time the Holy Spirit is quenched

The victory of Christ that we love to experience over sin

Loses all its power as in the satisfaction we are drenched

When we celebrate victory by works of determination

We will succeed for a while, but then we’re back again

We sin in a different form, but really not in another essence

We're just leaning on the flesh again with its deceiving scan

The flesh seems Satan’s workshop and longs to always be

Although it does well for a while and then falls into sin

Until the day we depart, and we're fully delivered and free

until then, there's the opportunity for the flesh to fail within
