Distance
In the shimmering world where the land sparkles and the sea glitters,
A gem behind each corner,
Alone does a man live.
Scruffy and terrible,
A temper to defeat Ivan.
His crooked nose and a mean glare,
A tattered shawl dragging the ground.
Alone does the man live.
His hefty home, rickety and slack,
Wheezing in the midnight ticks,
A creak and a whollup every once in a while,
Moaning with each strike the East blows.
Shuffling forward, shuffling back,
The occasional stumble,
Loosen the shoulders, tighten the hips.
Alone does the man live.
