Distance
I'm lying here in bed,
As these thoughts keep racing through my head.
Pictures of you flash through my mind,
Your beauty and grace is all I can find.
There's no blemish to be found,
No flaw that has kept you bound.
Your perfection is an endless sea,
One whose waves beckon me.
Every time our eyes meet, I throw myself in,
And let the current take me to a place I've never been.
A place where the sun's warmth shines up above,
The closest I've ever been to a simple thing called love.
These feelings are like a hurricane, sweeping me away,
And the strength of such winds, begging me to stay.
Just like those moments of pure joy and bliss,
Like how the world seems to fade whenever we kiss.
My chest burns with a longing that I've never felt,
Not having you here makes my heart melt.
The stars far above taunt my heart.
That I may make a wish and we'll never part.
But I hold onto the fact that I may see you soon,
After all, we are under the same moon.
And that gives me hope to believe,
That from my heart, you'll never leave.
So I'll hold onto you as we grow,
And you can lean into me as we go.
We'll brave this life and all its wrong,
Just as long as we stick together, we can move along.
