From a Distance

From a distance

the old man

cast a giant shadow

standing there, seemingly

wantig no favors

For time had changed

his outward appearance

but diginity seemed to shower him

like a warm spring rain

From a distance

his demeanor seemed to reveal

a legacy of pride

that lingered still

I wandered closer

to get a better view

of the shadow and the man

wondering, if he knew

He turned to me

in my surprise and dismay

"young brother, can you help

an old man who's lost his way?"|
