The distance I choose

I will stay 6 feet apart

6 feet away from you

even when it hurts

I will stay 6 feet apart

I will wash my hands

until they are blistering red

because that means

Covid won't close the gap to you

I will wear a mask

so the virus won't spread

so I don't have to bury you

so you don't end up dead

I will stay 6 feet apart

6 feet far, far away

wearing my masks

with hands clean today

so I can see you tommorow

so I can see you one day
