Distant. Pale. Afraid.

Distant, Pale, Afraid.
The things I see in the Mirror.
Locked in the bathroom.
The noises come in loud,
Happy and joyful.
The very things that Torture me.
Why does it have to be this way?
My fingers claw at my face.
Maybe splashing water will ease my fate.
I hear them louder... Maybe even closer.
I start to shake, I look back in the mirror.
Distant, Pale..... TERRIFIED.
My breathing fastens.
My pulse beats wildly.
I gulp in anticipation.
I stare down the door.
I grab the handle, wincing as my heart thumps into my throat.
Its time, I turn the handle.
A big smile on my face.
Its time to greet the visitors and be....
SOCIAL.
