Distorted
I’d like to shatter
this distorted reflection of my past.
The warped image
that strikes back at me
blinds me
repulses me.
This person
with a superficial gaze
haughty brows
and unforgiving mouth
isn’t
(wasn’t)
me.
Someplace beneath;
I’d like to free.
