The Disturbance

The cold drops of water hit my skin,

harsh sting

The obnoxious tatter on the roof,

like Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve

The trees outside dancing,

severe wind

Lights crawl through the sky,

like roots growing from a tree

I eat my popcorn furiously,

as every crunch goes with every boom

The lights immediately shut off,

a single lavender candle burns,

                                            swarming my nostrils
