Ditch

I’m down in this ditch I’ve dug for myself

I can’t seem to get my way out.

The walls are too high to do it myself,

And no one knows just how to help.

All I can do is just dig my ditch deeper,

And hope that I end up on top.

The day turns to dark, and night turns to light,

But always fades right back away.

The deeper I go the less light I see,

Until almost nothing is left.

Who knows if I’ll ever find my way out

Of this deep, dark ditch I’m stuck in.
