Divergent

I am but an Outsider standing by,

Wondering where I fit in this puzzle,

Lacking graceful curved edges.

What is my purpose?

Why am I here?

I am but an Outsider looking on

Watching the careful dance of abuse,

the laughter, the cynicism, the pain

What is my purpose?

Why am I here?

I am the Outsider screaming within,

You do not control me,

You do not own me,

This is not love,

This is not devotion.

I am the Outsider taking a step

cautiously planning my escape,

I am not heard,

I am diligent,

I am quietly rebuilding.

I am on the outside walking away,

I am gracefully curved,

I am intricately complicated,

I am terrifically strong,

I am Sarah and I have all the power.
