The Divide

Pinned to square one,

As if we are in a chapter never ending.

We fight like we were never brothers.

Immobile,

Cemented to a past of hate.

Brawls owed to our differences.

Refusing the embrace our divergence.

We refuse to listen,

We refuse to accept defeat,

We kill each other,

Just to solve a problem

We will repeat.

Loving one another,

Is never the prevailing option.

We forbid a future united.

Yet continue to ask the question,

Of why we are so divided.
