The Divided Truth

"... One nation under God, indivisible,

with liberty and justice for all."

It's a lie.

We've been divided since the beginning,

because you've always seemed to think less

of me and my meaning.

It's a lie.

You've treated me as though I never had a purpose,

and for a while now you've made it seem

like I'm not worth it.

It's a lie.

Even with liberty, I am still bound by chains,

and not one time can I recall justice being made.

Even though I took no part in the festivities,

I was forced to take the blame.

It's a lie, so let me fix it,

"... a divided nation under god, with

limited liberty, and justice for some."
