Divided World

A teen trapped in a cruel world Full of death, decay, and dismay Unknown is what tomorrow brings Food is scarce and education few This is how this teen lives Worrying about pregnancy and STDs Money is scarce so an education isn’t guaranteed But this isn’t how the other half lives Money is bountiful and education superior Any desire is fulfilled and there is no need for fear Tomorrow brings more time for ignorant bliss Blind to the world’s troubles and fears Unable to comprehend the pain of everyday life A silver spoon placed in their mouth But the other teen only knows how to use their hands This is the division between us and them The division between you and me We grow up differently as if we are in two different worlds But in the end our world is all the same A world of decay, death and dismay It is the same world with pleasure, spoils, and privilege This world is what we make of it So overcome your surroundings trapped teen Take the silver spoon out of your mouth and learn how the other half lives Because in the end we are all in the same world despite the divide All meant to see how the other half lives
