Divine Departure

The light is getting thinner

The shadow closes in.

Nobody wants to be a sinner

But everybody wants the sin.

We hide behind the word “mistake”

But its all phony, we’re all fake.

Eat the fruit and trust the snake.

Enjoy the game forget the stakes.

Because the light is getting thinner

The shadow closes in.

Nobody wants to be a sinner

But everybody wants to sin.

All are happy. All are sad.

Long forgotten: good and bad

Choices made, prices paid.

Humanity begins to fade.

And the light keeps getting thinner

The shadow closes in.

Everybody is a sinner

And nobody thinks of sin.

Allie and foe become the same

Honor is replaced by shame.

Sprinting forward towards the end.

Without family, without friends.

The light is gone, the world’s in shade.

An eternal contract soon to be paid.

But one is proud of our mistakes

Laughing as our whole world breaks

The seals are broken. So are we.

All is dark. None can see.

The world will burn and rightly so.

Most will stay. Some few will go.

What happens next?

I do not know.

But the light is getting thinner,

And the shadow closes in.
