divine dreaming
I don’t want to die
Because I’ve seen how death takes us
With no dignity, no divinity
I want not to walk the earth
I want to be the earth,
Spinning delicately in the vacuum
Feeling nothing, knowing less.
I want not to smell the roses,
I want to be the bee that rests upon it.
I want not to watch the sky as
A storm brews within it, thunder crashing,
Rather I wish to be the lightning it produces.
Like pollen fills the air
In clouds and puffs that choke,
I wish to disappear.
I don’t want to die
Because I am filled with more
Magic and more life
Than those who lay beneath the stones.
I simply wish not to feel
The angry ocean within me.
