Do I cry?

I always thought I’d be safe 

Until I heard his voice 

That single ‘Stop!’ tore me down 

I thought he would never yell at me

Do I cry? 

His eyes didn’t look upset and I hoped mine didn’t 

I couldn’t show that his words hurt me the way they did 

He walked away without looking back at me 

I tried to think he didn’t mean to hurt me 

Do I cry?
