Do you know?

Something you should know is that

I was born screaming at the top of my lungs .

I alerted all the adults with my cry

The pride my parents harbored was  unsurpassed

The weight of the world was not on my shoulders yet,

I had No need to worry about racial tensions,my sexual orientation, college or bad debt

I grew up sheltered not  knowing what the world really expected of me

Watching a jury declare george zimmerman not guilty, the world's awe of obama,My teachers reaction to my career choice

Realizing that it's a possibility that those aspirations I wanted just maybe weren't meant to be

According to my parents, I began making conscious decisions with my realization and my inner voice began to ring

My thoughts were as dark as the mariana trench because of my fate

Maybe Knowing the truth is the reason I began to  cower from society's thoughts

Nothing has changed since then and  I still fear a societal beating

The weight of the world is on my shoulders .
