Do You Know The People Like Me?
Do you know,
what it' s like,
to say goodbye?
Not for an hour,
not for a day,
but for a lifetime.
Do you know what it's like,
to have your heart,
torn out of your chest?
Knowing,
that you're not the best.
Do you know,
what it's like,
to have the one person,
you long to see,
not want your company?
to have them say goodbye,
because they believe,
all the lies.
Do you know,
how it feels,
to have your family,
turn and walk away?
not even turn around,
when you say hey.
Do you know,
how it feels,
to have your sister,
tell you she is scared,
knowing you can't help?
Do you know,
what it's like to pick fights,
not because you're mad,
but because you had,
to protect the one you love?
Do you know,
how it feels,
to live moving from here to there,
moving everywhere?
not having any love,
and heart to spare.
Do you know?
Do you?
Because I do.
So this is for all my friends,
all the ones like me,
everyone who,
is afraid to talk,
for fear of saying something wrong.
The ones,
Who stay in their room,
because that is where,
they feel safe.
The ones,
who can't go,
and talk to the pretty girl,
because they are so self conscious,
that they cant get a word out,
without stuttering.
This is for the people like me.
the people that are scared,
the people that are lonely,
but are slowly learning,
what it means,
to see love all around.
this is for,
the people like me.
