Do You Mind
I am myself,
In the background
Of your reality.
Never you mind me,
Mayhap° I not mind myself.
I am myself,
Staring out the window
Watching yellow butterflies.
Never you mind me,
I bother not but myself.
I am myself,
Remembered and forgotten
At the same time.
Never you mind me,
I tend to forget myself.
I am myself,
Decidedly misunderstood,
sanely crazy or calm.
Never you mind me,
I hardly understand myself.
I am myself,
Changing hardly
If changing at all.
Never you mind me,
I just prefer to be myself.
I am myself,
But you've become stone,
Turning an ice-cold shoulder.
Never you mind me,
I am confused myself.
I am myself,
But you've put on masks.
Masks that lie fake smiles.
Never you mind me,
You've hid you from myself.
I am myself,
Hopeful as if you'll remember
Our friendship, the fun we had.
Mayhap° you'll mind me,
For I am still myself.
I am myself,
Your old friend
Whom you've left behind.
I do hope you mind me,
I miss you, here....
By myself.
