Do You See Me

How many times must I try to prove myself to you

what is it that I must do to gain your love and your approval

I've tried my best to make myself different than all rest but you still continue to look pass me

you say that you see but what is it that you see in me.

am I some kind of disease that you try your best to avoid like cancer

if I asked you to describe me what kind of words would you use that I'm beautiful or that I'm quite

you say that when you look at me it reminds you of a time when you were happy and full of life

but now you say that when you look at me all you see is a sad and empty river moving with nothing surrounding it

I ask again how many times must I try to prove myself to you

what is it that I must do to gain your passion and your honesty

I've tried my best to look pass your lies over and over again but you still continue to lie to me

in my eyes I saw a man of faith you were that man but now your the darkness that won't let me gone

you try to make me choose between the things that I love and you but for some reason I can't decide

in one direction I see you and in the other I see me I try to choose both but I can't

you represent the passion and honesty that are hindden in me but I represent the strength and fearlessness that are lack in me

you say that I'm all you need but you still look pass me.

How many times must I try to prove myself to you

you say that I'm better than all the rest and that I'm the only one that you see but yet you still try your best to change me

and now I ask you I'm I not enough must I have some kind of figure that matches your image

people look to you as though your a God worthy to be worshiped but to me I see you as a simple man doing is best to survive

when you look into the sky what do you see out in the distance a future full of enthusiam or a future with much contrary for which you are pitied

many have spoken of you with much praise but with I you are silent and speechless not a word comes to mind

How many times must I prove myself to you

must I be the one to prove to you that I'm worth more than a ordinary rose that's as red as the blood that spills for you

know I ask you do you finally see me or will you continue to be the blind man that hides behind the door that refuses to accept me for who I am and for

what you are.

you tell me to cease from hinding behind walls so that people may see my greatness but yet you continue to hind and run in fear of those who judge you because you are different than them

what must I do to prove that you and I are seen like all the rest how many times must I tell you that individuality is seen as something beautiful in the eyes of others that are different than us and that we must show them what it is that is unique about us.

Now I scream out to you "Do you see me!" the real me? tell me that you finally do?.
