Do You See Me?

I look down at the keyboard

my hands are not mine

where are they?

I look in the mirror

and eyes that stare back

are empty

who are you?

I force my lips apart

a sound comes out

is it singing

or screaming

it’s lost

where is it?

I cannot touch memories

they slip through my palms

like tiny shards of glass

shredding soft flesh

for tiny beads of ruby to burst

where am I?

My passion has seeped

into the void of my core

I’m tired let me rest

I can’t wake up

am I awake?

I don’t see myself anymore

this body is stollen

it does not match my design

Can you see me?
